Deciphering Labels

To be clear, I’m talkin’ about food labels here friends. It might seem simple but it isn’t and the sad reality is that the general public places trust in food manufacturers when they don’t always deserve it. Many of you know that ingredients are listed in order of quantity in the food item. For example, the first ingredient is the most dominant, by even a fraction of a percent. This knowledge has us searching the list for known ‘bad stuff’ like sugar(s), chemicals and other preservatives. Do you know how many names there are for sugars? I mean really, because I don’t. The simple solution is to choose foods with 5 or less ingredients and ensure that you know what they are. Doing your own research or asking a trusted source is a great way to get answers. If it’s going into your one and only body isn’t it important enough to educate yourself about?
