Too much of just about anything is too much. Daily exercise, certainly when intense, doesn’t allow appropriate recovery time and this is made apparent through fatigue, illness, strains and injury. Balance is necessary and the trick to finding it lies in assessing progress. If you’re feeling negative repercussions in stead of strength and mobility gains then some changes must be made to your work effort – rest ratio.
The same can be true when you over-fit things into any given day. Stimulation and accomplishments bring feelings of pride and – well – accomplishment but too much has the opposite effect. Change your schedule by prioritizing tasks and events in order of importance. It is not possible to say yes to everything but the things that make you feel good like family, friends, fitness, food, fulfillment and recovery must not be ignored. Don’t over-fit or under-fit. Fit!
