I am certainly not suggesting that you must act appropriately (whatever that means) all the time. What I am pointing out is that the only behaviour you can control is yours. No matter what happens around you, from the words and actions of others to local events, you are responsible for your behaviour.
This is empowering because it puts you in the driver’s seat. When you find yourself in a situation you don’t like, consider what you can do about it, then do it! If you want to replace squishy spots on your body with strength then workout consistently. Turn tummy troubles into comfortable digestion and a tight waistline by eating good food. Swap frazzled feelings for peace of mind by practicing recovery methods like mindfulness and getting quality sleep.
Being in the driver’s seat doen’t mean it must be a solo experience. Direction and support help you navigate what behaviours will serve you best and teach you how to implement them with ease! This makes it much easier to behave yourself!
