Resilience

Resilience is what keeps us going physically, mentally and emotionally. Some scenarios and experiences hack away at it but by pushing through, however we are able to, we can build or strengthen our resilience. When considering physical resilience we know that muscular strength is developed through resistance training when we place progressive loads on the muscle over repetitions, sets, weeks, months and years. The specifics of strength training programs are dependent upon individual history, abilities, limitations, ongoing development and adherence to that program. Success in building physical resilience or muscular strength is a direct result of pushing through that program in a safe and effective manner. Mental and emotional resilience are built in similar fashions, by safely and effectively pushing through various scenarios and experiences. An important focus is to celebrate ALL the wins because the small ones add up and make us more resilient so that we can tackle the big ones!
