What’s The Harm?

You know the drill. It’s a workout day but you’re pooped, so you skip it. Skipping a workout once per week creates a pattern of skipped workouts leading to a decrease in strength, stability and mobility gains. What about your plan to eat healthy whole food but the drive-through is calling your name? So you cave, just this once, thinking what’s the harm in that? Eating junk food and all animal products sets off a myriad of detrimental responses.

You cave, just this once, thinking what’s the harm in that? Here are some examples.

Meat, fish, poultry and dairy increase insulin resistance within three hours of eating them. IR is the parent of obesity and grandparent of diabetes (it leads to both). Junk food and animal products create inflammation in your gut and damage to your arteries, potentially causing gastrointestinal disorders, immunodeciency and heart disease. Dairy also leaches calcium from your bones, which is the beginning of osteoporosis.

While our bodies have the phenomenal ability to heal wouldn’t this be better served by decreasing the harm?
